WHICH WAY NOW? - By R.R.Chasmer
*********************************
History
-------
I first saw the idea for this game on an old cartridge based computer some
many years ago, and from the age of 7 I always wanted a version of the game
on Beeb.
Once I had learned how to write programs in basic, I made 'BBC Which Way Now'
which took me a full 2 days. This was a 4 colour game and run in Mode 1
and used user defined characters.
I then used the game as my computer studies project on a Nimbus (Yeek) which
was runing BBC Basic. I tidied the program up documented it and handed it
in for marking etc.
This is the Archimedes version of which way now, and includes Full 256 colour
sprites, Computer players (2 levels of inteligence), Super sound, and is
my second game writen by me on the arc so far. The first being Zig-Zag a game
upgraded from the beeb.
VERSION 1 - BBC.
VERSION 2 - NIMBUS RUNNING BBC BASIC.
VERSION 3 - ARCHIMEDES. (THE BEST)

Essex,
SS8 OAR
Please inclose 'SAE' if you want a replie otherwise I maynot.
I also have a very large amount of PD etc.
I would very very much like to here from anyone lives on near Canvey who
ownes and ARC or A3000 as I do not no anyone yet who does.
SWAPING! I'm still relling on PD companies for most of my software for the
Arc, most of the stuff is very good but it's costing me about a quid a disc.
And theres so much stuff I can't aford it all. I need some mates to swap
computer stuff.
Other Stuff
-----------
This game was writen on an Archiemedes 310 with MEMC1A Upgrade, Risc-Os, Disc
Buffer for my dual 5.25 drives.
Using !Paint, !Edit, and Basic.

opponent, by selecting the highest numbers. Using Cursor keys.
Cursor = Left
Cursor = Right
Cursor = Up
Cursor = Down
Return = take piece
Escape = Quit present game
'Q' = fast mode (hold down)
'A' = normal (hold down)
Player 1 can only go Left & Right
Player 2 can only go Up & Down
Green Numbers give you points.
Red Numbers deplete your points.
Blue Numbers give and take nothing.
You can play the ARC vs ARC
HUMAN vs ARC
HUMAN vs HUMAN
The computer has 2 inteligence levels:-
1 = Best score on line.
2 = Look ahead 1, (best move).
It is a good idea to think ahead in the game giving your opponent low
scoring pieces while you get the high scoring pieces.
Play the ARC vs ARC and you'll soon learn how to play.
Have Fun, & Good Luck.

Hope you like the game,
